Online Fraud Protection
Brent Beckley will be the first to tell you the hardest part about fraud protection – finding that perfect balance between excellent customer care and risk management.
While getting his undergraduate degree in business finance from the University of Montana in 2003, Brent was president of his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and spent time as a food bank volunteer and YMCA youth soccer coach. After graduation, Brent created an online poker company called Absolute Poker and moved to Costa Rica with five of his fraternity brothers. As director of client services and risk management, Brent’s main responsibilities focused on fraud protection, payment processing, and customer service. The company grew seemingly overnight, from six people to over 700, and opened six separate international locations.
While he was the director of global operations & e-commerce at Blanca Games, Brent Beckley headed up all their business operations using a top-performing executive team and a $100 million annual operating budget. He also maintained maximum efficiencies in transaction routing, risk management and lowest costs on payment processing for over $5 billion in annual transaction volume.
Because of the volume of business he’s dealt with and the types of customer fraud he’s seen, Brent has now become an expert in the field. He has been able to leverage the knowledge he gained from all his previous experiences in order to sell himself as a useful tool for business. Brent Beckley’s company Critical.net uses proprietary fraud prevention and customer identification software to help businesses lower their payment processing risks while minimizing friction and still providing excellent customer care.
The software used at Critical.net is integrated into more than 15 different data providers that are used for customer verification and transaction screening. The platform is designed to keep user account data safe while simultaneously preventing fraudulent transactions. Brent understands that fraud is costly, and his software helps to prevent harmful activity while eliminating unnecessary costs. The built-in chargeback prevention technology is at the forefront of the design, but with a focus of keeping revenue where it belongs.
There’s a fine line between accepting as much business as you possibly can, and turning away business that is bad for your company. For those who want to avoid fraud, Brent Beckley loves to help them find that perfect balance of maximizing good customers and having a minimal number of bad ones.
There is an enormous risk for all merchants, large and small, in the world of online e-commerce, but all businesses should have one common goal: providing superior customer service. Getting customers to make transactions and leave knowing they had a good experience is the key to long-lasting success, especially in the world of online business today.
